Sandstone Group Investment Research Advisor
Michael Tanner serves as our Investment Research Advisor helping evaluate drilling opportunities for Shalehaven portfolio funds. Michael began his career working in various engineering roles for Marathon Oil. He then spent time as a research analyst for RARE PETRO Engineering, an oil and gas consulting firm, focusing on oil and gas project evaluation, due diligence and generating in-depth research reporting which supported numerous investment teams.
Following RARE PETRO, Michael co-founded Sandstone Group, a boutique oil and gas consulting and research firm which focuses on evaluation and analysis for various privately held oil and gas entities, including operators and investment teams. His experience spans all major basins within the Lower 48. Michael has a B.S in Petroleum Engineer, B.S in Economics and a M.S in Economics, all from Colorado School of Mines.
