Trestle Energy Partners, LLC – Advisor
Jeff Vaughan is a registered Professional Petroleum Engineer with over 40 years of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry. The primary focus of his career has been on developing engineering solutions to unlock the value of large-scale oil and gas resource plays. Cumulatively, Jeff has directed the development and sale of over $1.5 billion of oil and gas properties. Jeff formed Trestle Energy Partners, LLC (TEP) in 2022 to assist capital investors in sourcing and evaluating short cycle, high return drilling opportunities. The increased emphasis on capital discipline in the industry has provided increasing opportunities to participate in quality projects as a non-operating partner. Through decades of experience in many up and down cycles, Jeff has developed the discernment necessary to determine which projects will generate significant returns and which are likely to fall short. Jeff was CEO of Tracker Resource Development III which was funded by EnCap Investments and 1901 Partners. After amassing and selling a non-operated position in the Bakken, the focus turned to assembling a 26,000-acre position in the Midland Basin and establishing 3P net reserves of 114 MMBoe in multiple Wolfcamp benches. Earthstone Energy acquired this asset in July 2021 for cash and stock. As CEO of Tracker II and TRZ Energy, Jeff directed the Tracker team in building and developing a position of over 170,000 acres in the emerging Bakken play. After successfully completing 53 long reach horizontal wells to prove the economic potential, this property was sold to Hess Corporation for $1.05 billion in December 2010. He earned a BSc. in Petroleum Engineering, (Colorado School of Mines, 1982) and a MSc. in Global Energy Management (UC Denver, 2020) with an emphasis in finance. He currently serves on the board of Epic Energy, LLC., the Board of Governors of the Colorado School of Mines Foundation, and the Executive Board of Colorado UpLift (a nonprofit focused on building long-term, life-changing relationships with urban youth).
